Best Things from Aliexpress to Help you Start a New Hobby

The world is locked down and it looks like it’s hopefully coming to its end soon (we mean the lockdown, not the world). You can sit in front of the TV, drink alcohol and feel pity about yourself (that’s what we are doing) or you can also use all the time to start a new hobby or to improve in one you are already doing.

We have decided to compile some tips for new hobbies and top it up with some cheap things from Aliexpress you can buy for it. Yes, you can also buy most of them at the local shops, but many countries are closed down and you can get only essential stuff, so we hope this will help you out.

Working out & Fitness

Like a year ago we had an article about the best things for working out from Aliexpress. So don’t forget to check that one out, if improving your condition and health is something you want to start as a hobby. We decided to choose the three things that you were buying the most from the blog post and put them in here. Is it content recycling? Well, yes, probably. So let’s hope you haven’t read that article yet.

Xiaomi Powerball – 15.29$

It seems like Powerballs are still in. This one by the Xiaomi brand attracted you and it was one of the best-selling products from the list. It helps with building forehand muscles, but it also improves your biceps, triceps, etc. We found out, that it can also be used for rehabilitation – for example, if you have carpal tunnel syndrome.

The only con that is the same is the fact, that the Powerball is kinda noisy. It doesn’t matter if you use it at home, however, it is not suitable for office usage.

Skipping Rope – 6.69$

This skipping rope is a great way to start with some cardio. You probably won’t get ripped by using only that but you are going to lose some of that fat. One hour of jumping equals to something around 1000 calories burned (it, of course, depends on your weight and so on). It’s one of the most efficient exercises.

You can get cheaper skipping ropes, but we have this one and we can get behind it. It’s worth spending a bit more on it.

Hand Grip – 4.48$

And which product from the last list was the most favorite amongst our readers? Well, surprisingly this classic hand grip which is in some way similar to the Powerball. It helps with strengthening of your hands, wrists, and forearms.

For us, it has one huge advantage – you can use it anywhere. It’s completely silent so you can put it in your office, press it a few times every half an hour and watch your strength grow.

Musical instrument

What? A musical instrument from Aliexpress. Well, yes. We are preparing a post on this topic too, but it would be a shame to not mention it here. You can buy various musical instruments from Aliexpress and the quality is comparable with (cheaper) instruments from your local shop. And that’s just enough if you are starting with it. No need to spend tons of money on an instrument that could lay in your closet after a few weeks.

So let’s get it going.

Harmonica – 1.77$

Let’s start with a simple and cheap instrument – good old harmonica. There are tons and tons of tutorials, youtube videos, and so on. It’s easy to learn a few songs and look cool. However, it takes loads of time to get good at it. If you are looking for something to amaze your friends next to the bonfire, this one is for you.

What we love about it? It’s so small that you can put it in your pocket and train anywhere you want.

Ukulele – 25.60$

Hmm, is there anything cooler than harmonica to play next to the bonfire? Yes, it’s freaking ukulele. Everyone loves the calm sound of it and you can play and sing most of the popular songs on it.

This one comes in a set with a tuner, spare strings, guitar pick, strap, and bag. So you pretty much have everything you can need. Cool, right?

Mbira (kalimba) – 16.20$

Mbi-what? Okay, let’s call it finger piano. This originally African musical instrument became popular on the Aliexpress and well on the internet too. It has a calm sound which makes any song so peaceful to listen to. There are more and more song tutorials on the youtube and whole internet so you don’t have to worry about learning by hearing.

There is not much more to say about it, so let’s hear one so you know what we are talking about.

Cooking

Well, yes, we had an article with things for the kitchen and cooking from Aliexpress here. And yes we are going to choose the best three things. Not innovative, we know.

But hey, who cares – let’s talk about cooking. Together with working out, it’s probably the best hobby you can start with. Getting and keeping fit is not only about what you are doing but mainly about what you are eating. It’s easy to make a tasty unhealthy meal but it’s time to learn something tasty and healthy. We are not going to promote any recipe site or youtube channel here and instead we will present you the top 3 things for your kitchen from Aliexpress that you (our visitors) loved the most.

Measurement cup – 1.90$

This thing is really handy and it’s not a surprise that our visitors loved it. Sometimes it’s ok to put things in your meal by a rule of thumb but there are some instances, where it’s really important to keep the things as they are stated in a recipe.

And that’s when this measurement tool comes in work. By the way, you don’t have to worry. It’s made out of a food-grade material that is safe for your food.

Vegetable slicer – 1.97$

And now it’s slicer time. The second most bought thing was this simple plastic vegetable slicer. You can use it for tomatoes, you can use it for potatoes and you can even use it for onions. It’s an awesome kitchen helper that doesn’t take much space and is convenient.

Finger guard – 0.74$

Such a simple thing yet so great! This thing was the most popular from the Aliexpress kitchen article not only because of its usefulness but also thanks to its price. For less than a dollar, it’s an absolute must-have. It’s easy to use, it’s easy to wash and if you are just starting in the kitchen it’s a really good gadget to not cut your fingers off.

3D Printing

Finally, something new! We didn’t have an article about 3D printing yet, but we are preparing it for you. We have ordered a few 3D printers but some haven’t arrived yet so let’s use what we have for this post.

We have decided to list the best 3D printer for each of the 3 categories (cheap, medium, expensive). So that means everybody can start – you don’t have to pour thousands of dollars into it.

Creality ENDER 3 – 170$

This model is, without a doubt, the best affordable 3D printer you can buy. It’s also the best-selling 3D printer on Aliexpress. It’s a great way to start and it will work just fine as you buy it. However, sooner or later you are going to understand things better and better and you will find out you can tweak this by upgrading firmware and tweak this by something else. And yeah, that’s pretty cool, it’s great for beginners but it will help you to understand 3D printers more and more.

Unfortunately, right now it is available only in a few warehouses around the world, however, it’s just because people are bored at home so they are buying it. Just wait a few days, and it will be available more again.

ANYCUBIC Photon-S – 240$

This 3D printer rocks. We had the luck that it was possible to order it from a warehouse in our country so it took exactly one week to arrive. It was a bit surprise that the printer is smaller than we expected but the quality of the print is awesome. The quality of detail is astonishing!  It comes with software in which you create the model and then you upload it through the USB into the printer, which is convenient.

In conclusion, this printer is a great start, however, it’s a bit more costly than the previous model. We would start with this model. The previous one is great, yeah, but this one is absolutely on another level.

Artillery Sidewinder X1 – 399$

First of all, don’t worry about the “DIY” part. It took us 15 minutes to get it done and we are an absolute amateurs. And now about the printer. It looks huge in the pictures and well, it’s pretty big. That means it’s great if you want to print bigger things, obviously.

However, it’s not like the previous one that you can just put it on your table next to your computer. It’s a kind of space taker and we had to put it on the floor which is not ideal. But expect this, we felt in love with this one. Right now we are using it for printing the face shields and we have many plans with it. But if you are just starting – maybe try the previous models listed here.
